If your cleaner is not performing as it should, ALWAYS check the following:
- Is the filter clean?
- Is the leaf basket clean?
- Is debris blocking the passage through the cleaner or jamming the hammer? If so, make sure the pump is turned off and then detach the cleaner from the hose and remove it from the pool. Turn the unit upside down. You will notice after you remove the Foot Pad (scrubbing pad underneath skirt) there is a stainless steel screw (phillips head screw) holding the baffle plate into position. Remove the screw and baffle plate from the unit. This will free the Hammer from the main body of the cleaner. As you take out the Hammer, you may notice debris around the Hammer, simply remove the debris and reassemble. Please note: Simply looking down the hole of the cleaner or wiggling the Hammer back and forth without removing the Baffle Plate will not solve the problem.
TIP!
Optimising water flow does not mean maximizing flow through the cleaner. Excessive suction may make your cleaner hug the base or the pool walls and can even slow the cleaner down. In fact, to ensure a random pattern of travel that will enable the Pool cleaner to reach all areas of the pool, it is better to use minimal suction, not more. More suction will cause unnecessary wear and tear to your unit and can void you warranty.
